NeuroGym is marketed as the #1 AI and Human Powered Mental Fitness Training and Coaching Platform.
It distinguishes itself with three core features:
- The Neuro-Fitness Assessment: A questionnaire that uses your answers to score areas NeuroGym calls “Neuro-Muscles” and suggest which Neuro-Muscles, Innercises, and AI coaches to prioritize to help improve your mental health and fitness.
- Mindset Training: A structured system known as “Innercise” that combines research-informed techniques, such as guided imagery, breathing exercises, and positive self-talk, to help you develop more constructive thought patterns and habits in the areas you choose to focus on.
- AI Coaches: Access to over 40 specialized AI coaches to help you reach your goals or overcome your challenges.
Together, these features bring a mental health and fitness assessment, mindset training and practical guidance into one platform, allowing you to approach your goals and challenges from several angles.
The Founder and Research Behind NeuroGym
The credibility of the platform starts with its founder, John Assaraf, a widely recognized mindset and success expert.
John has had a highly successful career, accomplishing major milestones such as building five multi-million-dollar businesses, appearing on major TV shows and in well-known documentaries, becoming a bestselling author, and creating personal development programs with over 100,000 users.
Driven by his mission to maximize human potential, John immersed himself in behavioral neuroscience research.
He developed NeuroGym using insights gathered from over 10 years of studying how our thoughts, emotions, and actions influence the brain.
The Core Methodology and Neuroscience Behind NeuroGym’s Mindset Training

John describes them as “going to the gym for your mind,” designed to strengthen your “neuro-muscles” like confidence, focus, and resilience.
These sessions combine various research-informed techniques, such as breathing exercises, affirmations, visualizations, focusing on positive emotions, and prompts to take action aligned with your goals.
The aim is to help you practice more constructive ways of thinking, strengthen your self-image, and clarify the direction you want to take in your life.
Ultimately, the training is intended to help you develop a mindset and habits that support progress toward your goals.
The scientific concept underlying this approach is neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to change, reorganize itself, and adapt its function.
The Innercises aim to use this capacity to help retrain what NeuroGym refers to as subconscious programming—the automatic thoughts, beliefs, habits, and behavioral patterns that can develop through past experiences and outside influences.
Through repeated practice, the goal is to weaken unhelpful patterns and reinforce more constructive ones, helping you respond more intentionally in everyday life.
Inside the NeuroGym Platform: The Neuro-Fitness Assessment, Personalization Questionnaire, and Home Dashboard
Your journey inside the platform begins with the Neuro-Fitness Assessment.
This short questionnaire uses your responses to help identify strengths and weaknesses across seven core areas that NeuroGym calls “Neuro-Muscles,” such as beliefs and self-worth, motivation and habits, and emotional regulation and resilience.
The Neuro-Muscles are NeuroGym’s own framework, informed by concepts from neuroscience.
The assessment is based on your answers rather than a direct measurement of brain activity.
These categories cover aspects of mental health and fitness that NeuroGym relates to different brain networks and functions.
For example, NeuroGym links its Stress Management Neuro-Muscle to the anterior insula, amygdala, and autonomic nervous system, all of which have roles in stress-related processing or responses.
After the assessment, you receive an overall score out of 100 and individual scores for all seven Neuro-Muscles, including specific “Priority” labels indicating which muscles to work on first.
You can expand the “Know more” section under each Neuro-Muscle to learn about its associated brain networks and see which Innercises and AI coaches are recommended for that area.
Along with your Neuro-Muscle insights, your full brain profile also covers your brain archetype, specific strengths, weaknesses, dominant patterns, typical issues, and the types of Innercises you should focus on.
You can access these results at any time within the home tab.
Once you have reviewed your brain profile, the next step is to fill out the AI Personalization Questionnaire.
While the Neuro-Fitness Assessment gives you personalized recommendations based on your Neuro-Muscle scoring, this questionnaire creates customized suggestions around your goals, challenges, and preferences.
Some examples you can select from each category include:
- Goals: Improve my relationship with myself, lose weight, make more money, and improve my relationship with others.
- Challenges: Limiting beliefs, fears, procrastination, and lack of knowledge.
- Preferences: Mindset, health, wealth, and relationships.
There is also an “Other” option, allowing you to include anything that might not be on the list.
After completing the questionnaire, you can personalize your experience further by clicking the “Personalization” button on the bottom right of the tile.
Here, it is no longer about selecting options.
Instead, you can describe your goals, challenges, and personal circumstances in more detail, as well as set custom AI Reminders and manage specific ‘Memories’ for the AI to retain.
The platform and AI coaches will then use this information to tailor recommendations and conversations to your individual goals and needs.
With both the assessment and questionnaire complete, the home section now acts as your personalized daily dashboard.
It is designed to keep you accountable and streamline your experience on the platform.
At the top are the progress trackers, which log your completed lessons and programs, total “Innercise time,” and a daily streak counter.
In the middle of the dashboard, you will find recommended programs and Innercises based on the personal details you provided earlier, along with your current in-progress programs.
On the right-hand side of the page, you can access your latest AI coach conversation as well as other popular AI coaches.
Finally, at the very bottom, you can listen to featured “Innerscapes”—ambient soundtracks with comforting backgrounds for relaxation or focus.
Innercises and Programs: The Mindset Training and Knowledge Center
The next tab under Home is Programs, where you will find a wide range of categories.
The main ones for your daily Innercises include Business, Career, Health, Mindset, Relationships, and Wealth, while Foundations, Experts, and Innerscapes serve more specialized purposes.
You don’t have to work on all of the main categories at once; instead, you can begin by focusing on the top one or two areas you wish to enhance, or simply let the platform and AI coaches guide your focus.
When browsing the main categories, you will find a variety of themed programs, such as “Mindset for Success” in Mindset, “Ultimate Health” in Health, “Financial Success” in Wealth, and “Self-Love” in Relationships.
Each program contains a series of Innercises focused on that topic.
It is easy to fit Innercise training into your daily schedule because the platform offers shorter 5-10 minute sessions for quick mindset training called “bursts,” and longer 15-25 minute sessions for deeper mindset training and conditioning known as “stacks.”
This gives you the flexibility to choose the session length that best fits your day.
A practical starting point is to set aside 10-30 minutes a day for Innercise practice, choosing sessions that best fit your schedule.
For best results, NeuroGym recommends using headphones or earbuds when listening to the Innercises.
Another convenient feature is the ability to download sessions and use them offline, allowing for fewer distractions and better focus.
Also within the main categories, you will find many of John’s flagship programs from the past.
This is a significant bonus, as many of the programs comprehensively cover foundational areas of life.
For example, his “Winning the Game of Procrastination,” “Winning the Game of Fear,” “Exceptional Life Blueprint,” “Winning the Game of Weight Loss,” and “Winning the Game of Money” programs are all included on the platform depending on the tier you subscribe to.
Some of these programs have been available for over a decade, however, so it is worth considering whether particular advice still applies to your current circumstances.
Beyond the main categories, in Foundations, you can learn the basics of the programs section, along with general Innercises and breathwork exercises.
While these are primarily designed to introduce the core techniques used throughout the platform, you can also return to them as part of your daily practice.
The Experts and Innerscapes categories, however, are unique, as they do not contain typical Innercises.
Instead, the Experts category features programs from educators and practitioners in neuroscience, psychology, and personal development (like Dr. Sarah McKay, Jack Canfield, and Lisa Nichols), while the Innerscapes category provides a library of soothing ambient audio tracks to help with relaxation and focus.
These expert insights, combined with John’s past programs, are a great complement to the daily Innercise training, offering you additional practical mindset and success-oriented knowledge.
40+ Specialized AI Coaches: Personalized Guidance on Demand
The next tab you will find underneath Programs is “AI Coaches.”
This is one of the platform’s most distinctive features.
To help personalize your experience and tie everything together, the platform features over 40 specialized AI coaches.
NeuroGym describes these coaches as experts in their respective domains and informed by relevant research.
Their specialized focus may make them more useful for particular goals or challenges than general-purpose AI models, although that advantage has not been established through comparative research.
A few examples of the AI coaches you can expect to encounter include a Confidence Coach, Life Coach, Mental Health Coach, Healthy Aging Coach, Fitness Coach, Wealth Coach, and Relationship Coach.
There is also a “Super Coach,” which NeuroGym describes as combining the knowledge of all the individual coaches, making it a convenient option if you are pursuing more than one goal and want everything in one place.
You can ask them specific questions related to your goals or challenges, and they will provide you with tailored responses and suggested action steps based on the data they are trained on.
When I reached out to NeuroGym support, they confirmed that they utilize the latest AI models and continually update both the technology and the research-related content used by the coaches as newer models are released and new research emerges in their respective fields.
Research on AI-generated responses provides context for this type of guidance, although the studies below did not evaluate NeuroGym’s coaches themselves.
In some studies, participants rated AI-generated responses as more empathetic and compassionate than those of human professionals.
A study comparing GPT-4 with physicians on written clinical cases found higher scores for the model on a clinical-reasoning measure.
That finding does not establish superiority in real-world coaching or care, however.
Although NeuroGym’s coaches are designed to provide knowledgeable guidance within their respective domains, AI responses can still be inaccurate, so important information should be double-checked, particularly for health or financial decisions.
Overall, the AI coaching can be a useful tool for receiving guidance on achieving your goals and overcoming your challenges, as well as a great complement to the Innercise training.
Experts, Community, Events, and Progress: The Final Pieces of the NeuroGym Ecosystem
(Note: The image above shows an earlier version of the platform with 37 AI coaches; NeuroGym now offers over 40.)
The next section below AI Coaches is the “Experts” tab, where you will find a directory of the experts featured on the platform.
Clicking on a specific expert opens their personal page, which includes their bio, website, social media links, and all the programs they offer inside NeuroGym.
This makes it easy to learn about the experts, decide which of their programs you may want to pursue, and quickly find content from those you might already know and trust.
The next section below Experts is the “Community” tab.
This is where you can see other like-minded individuals discuss their thoughts and experiences on the platform, as well as share your own.
The layout is similar to a Facebook feed, showing the latest posts and updates from other members of the community, along with the NeuroGym team.
Sharing your progress and following others’ experiences could encourage you to stay consistent in using the platform and help you connect with people who share similar goals and interests.
During my time using the platform, however, I noticed relatively few posts from other members, with most updates coming from the NeuroGym team.
This may partly reflect the platform being relatively new.
Next is the “Events” section, where you can join live NeuroGym events.
Gold membership includes two live coaching and expert training sessions per month, while Platinum includes four.
These events typically cover:
- Platform Walkthroughs: Learn how to navigate the platform and make use of its features.
- Community Innercises: Practice Innercises in a group setting, similar to a yoga class but for your mind, with the support of others participating alongside you.
- Q&As: Ask questions and get feedback in real time while interacting with John Assaraf and the NeuroGym team.
- Expert Masterclasses: Join featured experts as they cover specific topics, offering valuable introductions to new areas you may be interested in learning more about.
Overall, the live events are an excellent feature to help you stay more consistent, motivated, supported, and educated as you work towards your goals.
The final tab on the platform is “Progress.”
While it includes tracking information similar to the Home dashboard, it also provides a longer-term view of your practice.
For example, you can view your daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly Innercise time trends, as well as a complete history of all the lessons and programs you have completed.
Seeing your accumulated Innercise time and completed lessons increase can be satisfying and provide motivation to keep using the platform consistently.
User Feedback, Pricing, and How to Access
NeuroGym reports that within seven days of use, 98% of surveyed users felt more confident, 98% reported fewer limiting beliefs, and 93% felt more focused.
These figures reflect users’ self-reported experiences in a company survey rather than findings from an independent, controlled study.
They offer useful feedback about respondents’ experiences, but do not establish how much of the reported improvement was caused by NeuroGym or how representative those respondents were of all users.
A controlled study would help distinguish the effects of using NeuroGym from expectations, other changes in users’ lives, and changes that might occur without the platform.
However, as I outline in my guide on How to Spot the Best Personal Development Courses, this doesn’t necessarily mean the survey results lack authenticity or value.
Research provides some support for practices related to those used within NeuroGym’s Innercises, including affirmations and guided imagery.
Separate studies have reported improvements in self-confidence in sports following visualization alongside physical training, potential benefits of guided imagery for focus, and more positive self-beliefs following reflection on positive personal experiences in people with social anxiety.
Although these studies do not verify NeuroGym’s survey percentages or establish that its specific combination of techniques produces the same effects, they provide some contextual evidence that related practices may offer similar benefits.
As of October 2026, NeuroGym’s US Apple App Store listing shows 4.8 out of 5, while its Google Play listing shows 4.5 out of 5.
Positive reviews describe benefits such as greater confidence, increased motivation, and improved mood, with some users describing their experience as life-changing.
The app listings include reviews of the earlier Innercise app as well as the newer NeuroGym platform, so these ratings and reviews reflect experiences with both versions.
Older reviews offer insight into the Innercise training carried over into NeuroGym, although they do not report on all of the newer features, such as AI coaching, live events, and community support.
Users of the original Innercise app reported periodic freezing or crashing.
I have not personally encountered those issues while testing the newer NeuroGym platform on the web and mobile app, although others may still experience them.
A few user reviews, however, have reported issues accessing their full membership after purchasing directly through the mobile app.
Based on these reports, I recommend purchasing your membership through the web version, which you can access on either a mobile device or a computer.
John’s book, Innercise, which details the underlying method behind the platform’s Innercises, also holds a high 4.6-star rating on Amazon.
NeuroGym has an overall brand rating of 4.2 on Trustpilot, surpassing the 4.0 threshold I typically set for a good rating on that specific review site (you can learn more about my subjective rating scales for other review sources in my guide on “How to Spot the Best Personal Development Courses“).
The majority of reviews are positive, with several describing improvements in confidence, motivation, and signifigant progress toward personal or business goals.
Negative feedback includes concerns about marketing, pricing, billing, access, and customer service, with limited detail about outcomes after sustained use of the programs.
The marketing did not personally bother me, though I can understand why its strong language and claims might leave some readers feeling skeptical.
I found customer support helpful when asking about NeuroGym, and while a few of the programs seemed expensive, I considered many of them reasonably priced.
You can access NeuroGym through their official website.
Once there, you will be prompted to take the Neuro-Fitness Assessment.
After completing the assessment, you can enter your email and create a password to set up your NeuroGym account.
You can then view your results and further customize your account based on your goals, needs, and preferences.
From there, you can explore the different areas of the platform.
You can later access your account on any device with a web browser (such as a computer, phone, or tablet), or through the mobile app.
As previously mentioned, I recommend using the web version due to the reported issues with the mobile app, and I personally prefer using it on my computer for the larger screen.
A free account provides introductory access to NeuroGym, including a limited selection of Innercises and AI coaching, allowing you to try some of the platform’s core features before deciding whether a paid membership is right for you.
If you would like access to more of the platform, you can select “Upgrade” and choose one of the available membership tiers:
- Gold Membership ($47/month or $297/year): Includes 300+ Innercises, 10+ AI Coaches, a members-only community, 2 live expert trainings per month, and access to 4 of John’s past programs.
- Platinum Membership ($97/month or $497/year): Includes everything in the Gold Membership, 700+ Innercises, access to all 42+ AI Coaches, 4 live expert trainings per month, and all of John’s past flagship training programs.
An annual membership works out to a lower monthly cost, although the monthly option offers more flexibility while you decide whether the platform suits you..
The Platinum memebership may be worth considering if you expect to use the wider selection of coaches, Innercises, and live events.
Gold may be sufficient if its included resources cover your priorities.
The better choice depends on what you expect to use and what you can comfortably afford.
Pros, Cons, and Who the Platform is For and Not For
Before deciding whether to invest in a NeuroGym membership, it can be helpful to evaluate the platform’s strengths and weaknesses to see if it is a good fit for your goals, needs, and overall lifestyle.
Pros
- Comprehensive: The platform includes a broad selection of tools and resources for working toward your goals or overcoming your challenges all in one place, including a mental health and fitness assessment, mindset training, AI coaching, expert courses, live events, and community support.
- Personalization: The platform recommends Innercises, AI coaches, and tailored guidance based on your Neuro-Fitness Assessment results, goals, challenges, and preferences.
- Draws on Research:The platform incorporates practices supported by some research, such as guided imagery and forms of positive self-talk, alongside educational content informed by neuroscience and behavior change.
Cons
- Pricing: The monthly or annual membership can be a significant financial commitment, particularly if you only use a small portion of the included resources.
- Requires Time and Effort: Getting the most out of NeuroGym involves consistent practice and applying what you learn, which may not suit everyone’s schedule or preferences.
- App Syncing Issues: A few user reviews have reported issues accessing their full membership after purchasing directly through the mobile app. While this may be temporary, I would recommend erring on the side of caution and purchasing through the web version.
Who is the platform for?
The platform may suit people who want to improve their mindset, work toward personal goals, or overcome challenges, particularly those who are open to regular practice and applying what they learn.
It may be particularly appealing if you prefer having a variety of personal development tools and resources all in one place.
Who is it not for?
It may be less suitable if you prefer working directly with a human coach or are looking for a solution that requires little ongoing practice and application. It is also not the best fit for anyone on a tight budget who might not be able to comfortably afford the cost of a membership.
Final Thoughts

I find NeuroGym to be a comprehensive personal development resource, bringing together mindset training, AI coaching, and other tools and resources in one ecosystem.
I also find it innovative in its use of AI to tailor mindset training recommendations and coaching to an individual’s mental health and fitness profile, goals, challenges, and preferences.
Although I did not personally use the Innercises, I have used a combination of very similar techniques in the past, and that experience helped shape my perspective on this part of the platform.
My approach combined deep breathing to settle my attention, affirmations, visualizations, positive emotions, and aligned action.
This process helped me improve my mindset, achieve my goals, and create a vision for my life that I took action towards.
As a result, I became a more positive, confident, and goal-aligned individual.
My positive experience with similar practices is one reason I believe the Innercise approach could help people, although those practices are not identical to the Innercises themselves.
What makes the Innercises versatile is their coverage of many foundational areas of life, allowing you to focus your mindset training on the areas most relevant to you.
That being said, I would like to see the platform’s AI used to generate Innercises tailored to an individual’s unique goals and challenges across multiple areas of life.
This would allow users to address several of those goals within a single session, rather than relying on existing Innercises that generally focus on one particular area and are not individually customized.
To be fair, focusing on one category at a time allows for a more concentrated and potentially effective approach in that area, and mindset improvements in one area may carry over to other areas of life.
My experience with NeuroGym’s AI coaching has been mixed.
When I first explored NeuroGym’s AI coaching, my impression was that its responses compared favorably with those from Google Search’s AI Mode, which I recall using for comparison at the time.
In more recent comparisons conducted in October 2026 using general questions about mindset, health, relationships, and business, however, I found the responses I received from GPT-6 through the paid ChatGPT Plus plan more consistently detailed and comprehensive.
The Super Coach provided useful starting points and, in some exchanges, structured plans and step-by-step guidance.
I also appreciated its ability to connect recommendations to Innercises and expert-led sessions within the platform.
However, the depth of its responses varied, some recommended Innercises and sessions were less relevant to my questions, and requests for further explanation did not always produce the detail I wanted.
These were informal comparisons of the responses I received, rather than a systematic test of accuracy.
For someone primarily interested in AI guidance, general-purpose AI services, including paid options such as ChatGPT Plus, are worth comparing before committing to a NeuroGym membership.
NeuroGym may be more appealing if you also expect to use its Innercises, courses, live events, and other resources, with coaching integrated into that experience.
Having these features together may also make it easier for some people to incorporate the coaching into a regular personal development routine.
Ultimately, I believe that having the right mindset and accurate, relevant information provides an important foundation for achieving goals and overcoming challenges.
This is where I see the Innercises and AI coaches complementing each other, combining mindset training with practical guidance and suggested action steps.
I also find the Neuro-Muscle framework useful for organizing areas to work on and choosing priorities, while keeping in mind that the scores reflect questionnaire responses rather than measured brain function.
I think there is also value in the human elements of the platform, including the community and live events with experts.
While a membership may be a significant expense for some, its value depends partly on how regularly you use the AI coaching, Innercises, and other resources.
The membership costs less than many traditional one-on-one coaching services and provides on-demand AI guidance alongside scheduled live events, among other features.
That on-demand access is convenient, allowing you to seek guidance as needed rather than being limited to a set number of scheduled sessions, as is common with human coaching.
However, AI coaching offers a different experience than working directly with a human professional, which some people may prefer.
With all that in mind, I believe NeuroGym can offer good value for people who find its approach appealing, expect to use a range of its features consistently, and can comfortably afford a membership.
Overall, if you are looking to improve your mindset, achieve your goals, and overcome your challenges, NeuroGym is a good choice, drawing on research and bringing a variety of tools and resources together in one place.
If NeuroGym sounds like the right fit for you, you can get started by taking the Neuro-Fitness Assessment on their official website.
