NeuroGym: The AI-Powered Mindset Training and Goal Achievement Platformneurogym brain training

NeuroGym is marketed as the #1 AI and Human Powered Mental Fitness Training and Coaching Platform.

Although this is a bold claim, I have not seen any other platform with such a specific and comprehensive focus on evaluating your mental health and fitness, developing your mindset, and providing specialized coaching— all across multiple areas and backed by AI-driven customization for your specific goals and needs.

While popular mental wellness apps such as Calm and Headspace provide tools for general mindfulness, meditation, and overall well-being, NeuroGym goes a step or two further.

table comparing neurogym calm and headspace

NeuroGym distinguishes itself with three core features:

  1. The Neuro-Fitness Assessment: A questionnaire that evaluates your baseline in different areas of mental health and fitness known as “Neuro-Muscles,” providing a score for each one that helps direct which Innercises and AI coaches are best for improving each area.
  2. Mindset Training: The integration of a variety of science-backed techniques into a structured mental training system—known as “Innercise”—designed to rewire your brain for success in whichever area of life you choose to focus on.
  3. AI Coaches:  Access to over 40 specialized AI coaches to help you reach your goals or overcome your challenges.

This combination goes well beyond general wellness by systematically approaching your goals and challenges at the root from multiple angles, providing you with some of the most effective tools to zero in on achieving your desired outcome.

The Founder and Research Behind NeuroGym

john assaraf neruogym

The credibility of the platform starts with its founder, John Assaraf, one of the world’s most recognized mindset and success experts.

John has had a highly successful career, accomplishing major milestones such as founding five multi-million-dollar businesses, appearing on major TV shows and in well-known documentaries, becoming a bestselling author, and creating personal development programs with over 100,000 users.

Driven by his mission for maximizing human potential, John immersed himself in behavioral neuroscience research.

He developed this platform using insights gathered from over 10 years of studying factors such as how our thoughts, emotions, and actions influence the brain.

His methods are built on research that has been widely accepted and validated by top neuroscience experts and psychologists around the world.

The Core Methodology and Neuroscience Behind NeuroGym’s Brain Training

innercise

The backbone of the platform is its audio tracks known as “Innercises”—fully guided brain training sessions.

John describes them as “going to the gym for your mind,” designed to strengthen your “neuro-muscles” like confidence, focus, and resilience.

These sessions utilize multiple evidence-based techniques, such as brain priming (deep breathing to prime the subconscious for change), affirmations, visualizations, positive emotions, and reminders to take action aligned with your goals.

This combination is designed to create new neural pathways, fostering new positive beliefs, an empowering self-image, and a clear, inspiring vision for your life.

Ultimately, this helps you develop the necessary mindset and habits to achieve your goals faster and easier.

The entire premise of this training is based on the concept of neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to change, reorganize itself, and adapt its function.

The Innercises within the platform leverage this fact to override and rewrite your subconscious programming—the mental conditioning that stems from past events and outside sources, such as childhood experiences and societal influences, which unconsciously shape your beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Using the Innercises within NeuroGym, however, helps you take back conscious control of the wheel of your mind.

Inside the NeuroGym Platform: The Neuro-Fitness Assessment, Personalization Questionnaire, and Home Dashboard

picture of the neurofitness assessment

Your journey inside the platform begins with the Neuro-Fitness Assessment.

This short questionnaire determines your baseline strengths and weaknesses across seven core “Neuro-Muscles,” such as beliefs and self-worth, motivation and habits, and emotional regulation and resilience.

These are essentially different aspects of mental health and fitness, each tied to specific regions of the brain.

After the assessment, you receive an overall score out of 100 and individual scores for all seven Neuro-Muscles, including specific “Priority” labels indicating which muscles to work on first.

You can expand the “Know more” section under each to learn about their associated brain networks and discover which Innercises and AI coaches are recommended to help improve each one.

While the Neuro-Muscles are NeuroGym’s own proprietary framework, the specific brain networks listed on the platform for each area are backed by science.

For example, the Stress Management Neuro-Muscle is indeed associated with the anterior insula, amygdala, and autonomic nervous system—structures and systems widely recognized in neuroscience for regulating our body’s stress response.

Along with your Neuro-Muscle insights, your full brain profile also covers your brain archetype, specific strengths, weaknesses, dominant patterns, typical issues, and the types of Innercises you should focus on.

You can access these results at any time within the home tab.

Once you have reviewed your brain profile, the next step is to fill out the AI Personalization Questionnaire.

While the Neuro-Fitness Assessment gives you personalized recommendations based on your Neuro-Muscle scoring, this questionnaire creates customized suggestions around your goals, challenges, and preferences.

Some examples you can select from each category include:

  • Goals: Improve my relationship with myself, lose weight, make more money, and improve my relationship with others.
  • Challenges: Limiting beliefs, fears, procrastination, and lack of knowledge.
  • Preferences: Mindset, health, wealth, and relationships.

There is also an “Other” option, allowing you to include anything that might not be on the list.

After completing the questionnaire, you can take the customization aspect even further by clicking the “Personalization” button on the bottom right of the tile.

Here, it is no longer about selecting options.

Instead, you can type out the specific details of your goals, challenges, and overall life, as well as set custom AI Reminders and manage specific ‘Memories’ for the AI to retain.

The platform and AI coaches will then use this exact context to tailor recommendations and conversations to your individual goals and needs.

With both the assessment and questionnaire complete, the home section now acts as your personalized daily dashboard.

It is designed to keep you accountable and streamline your experience on the platform.

At the top are the progress trackers, which log your completed lessons and programs, total “Innercise time,” and a daily streak counter.

In the middle of the dashboard, you will find recommended programs and Innercises based on the personal details you provided earlier, along with your current in-progress programs.

On the right-hand side of the page, you can access your latest AI coach conversation as well as other popular AI coaches.

Finally, at the very bottom, you can listen to featured “Innerscapes”—ambient soundtracks with comforting backgrounds for relaxation or focus.

Innercises and Programs: The Brain Training and Knowledge Center

neurogym innercises and programns

The next tab under Home is Programs, where you will find a wide range of categories.

The main ones for your daily Innercises include Business, Career, Health, Mindset, Relationships, and Wealth, while Foundations, Experts, and Innerscapes serve more specialized purposes.

You don’t have to work on all of the main categories at once; instead, you can begin by focusing on the top one or two areas you wish to enhance, or simply let the platform and AI coaches guide your focus.

When browsing the main categories, you will find a variety of themed programs, such as “Mindset for Success” in Mindset, “Ultimate Health” in Health, “Financial Success” in Wealth, and “Self-Love” in Relationships.

Each program contains a series of Innercises focused on that topic.

It is easy to fit Innercise training into your daily schedule because the platform offers shorter 5-10 minute sessions for quick brain training called “bursts,” and longer 15-25 minute sessions for deeper brain training and conditioning known as “stacks.”

This gives you the flexibility to choose the session length that best fits your day.

For optimal results, aim to Innercise for 10-30 minutes a day.

This can be done as one daily session or split into multiple sessions, such as one in the morning and one at night.

Headphones or earbuds are highly recommended, as the specially designed audio travels back and forth between each ear, helping you stay focused and calm while activating both brain hemispheres for maximum effect.

Another convenient feature is the ability to download sessions and use them offline, allowing for fewer distractions and better focus.

Also within the main categories, you will find many of John’s flagship programs from the past.

This is a significant bonus, as they comprehensively cover foundational areas of life and typically cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.

For example, his “Winning the Game of Procrastination,” “Winning the Game of Fear,” “Exceptional Life Blueprint,” “Winning the Game of Weight Loss,” and “Winning the Game of Money” programs are all included on the platform.

Beyond the main categories, in Foundations, you can learn the basics of the programs section, along with general Innercises and breathwork exercises.

While these are primarily designed to introduce the core techniques used throughout the platform, they also function as effective daily tools.

The Experts and Innerscapes categories, however, are unique, as they do not contain typical Innercises.

Instead, the Experts category features programs from world-class neuroscience, psychology, and success experts (like Dr. Sarah McKay, Jack Canfield, and Lisa Nichols), while the Innerscapes category provides a library of soothing ambient audio tracks to help with relaxation and focus.

These expert insights, combined with John’s past programs, are a great complement to the daily Innercise training, offering you additional practical mindset and success-oriented knowledge.

40+ Specialized AI Coaches: The AI Coaching Revolution

neurogym ai coaches

The next tab you will find underneath Programs is “AI Coaches.”

This is where NeuroGym really starts to innovate and break new ground.

To help personalize your experience and tie everything together, the platform features a robust roster of over 40 highly specialized AI coaches.

Each AI mentor is extensively trained in their individual domain and equipped with a thorough knowledge base in neuroscience, remaining available 24/7 to guide you throughout your NeuroGym journey.

Because of this targeted training, they are designed to be more accurate and helpful in their specialties than general AI models.

A few examples of the AI coaches you can expect to encounter include a Confidence Coach, Life Coach, Mental Health Coach, Healthy Aging Coach, Fitness Coach, Wealth Coach, Relationship Coach, and many more.

There is also the “Super Coach,” which possesses the combined knowledge of all the individual coaches, making it a useful option if you are pursuing more than one goal and want everything in one place.

You can ask them specific questions related to your goals or challenges, and they will provide you with expertly crafted answers and action steps based on their specialized databases of knowledge.

When I reached out to NeuroGym support, they confirmed that they utilize the latest AI models and continually update both the technology and the evidence-based information the coaches are trained on as newer models are released and new research emerges in their respective fields.

While some may initially feel hesitant about relying on an AI coach rather than a human, the data suggests this technology is quite effective.

Recent studies have shown that people often rate AI-generated responses as more empathetic and compassionate than those of human professionals.

Furthermore, in certain specialized fields, highly trained AI models are now matching or even outperforming human experts when it comes to delivering accurate information and actionable steps.

This entire AI coaching system is what truly levels up the platform, giving you a coach in your pocket designed to intelligently help you step by step with your unique goals and needs.

Experts, Community, Events, and Progress: The Final Pieces of the NeuroGym Ecosystem

(Note: The NeuroGym platform is continually expanding, and they have grown their roster from the 37 AI coaches listed in the screenshot above to over 40.)

The next section below AI Coaches is the “Experts” tab, where you will find a directory of the top experts featured on the platform.

Clicking on a specific expert opens their personal page, featuring their bio, website, social media links, and all the programs they offer inside NeuroGym.

This makes it easy to learn more about the experts, decide which of their specialized programs you may want to pursue, and quickly find content from those you might already know and trust.

The next section below Experts is the “Community” tab.

This is where you can see other like-minded individuals discuss their thoughts and experiences on the platform, as well as freely share your own.

The layout is similar to a Facebook feed, showing the latest posts and updates from different members of the program along with the NeuroGym team.

This is a great way to stay connected and motivated by seeing others’ journeys as you embark on your own, while also giving you a space to share if you so choose.

Next is the “Events” section, where you can join live NeuroGym events hosted on a weekly basis.

These events typically cover:

  • Platform Walkthroughs: Learn how to navigate and effectively use the NeuroGym platform to help maximize your results.
  • Community Innercises: Innercise in a group setting. It is similar to a yoga class but for your mind, allowing you to feel the support of a shared environment.
  • Q&As: Ask questions and get feedback in real time, acting as a great opportunity to interact with John Assaraf and the NeuroGym team.
  • Expert Masterclasses: Join featured experts covering specific topics, serving as valuable introductions to new areas you may be interested in learning more about.

Overall, the live events are an excellent feature to help you stay more consistent, motivated, supported, and educated as you work towards your goals.

The final tab on the platform is “Progress.”

While it provides similar progress tracking stats to your home dashboard, it offers more long-term depth.

For example, you can view your daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly Innercise time trends, as well as a complete history of all the lessons and programs you have completed.

This makes it a valuable tool to visualize your long-term growth and stay motivated as you build your daily Innercise habits.

Real Results, Pricing, and How to Access

After 7 days of using the platform, user surveys show impressive results, with 98% of users reporting they felt more confident, 98% reporting fewer limiting beliefs, and 93% reporting they felt more focused.

While this survey is inherently skewed toward a positive bias—since those who stick around for seven days are more likely to be having a positive experience compared to those who quit early—it serves as fair evidence of the platform’s potential effects.

While it is possible to notice subtle effects after only one or two Innercise sessions, it realistically requires more consistent training to achieve tangible results, making those who quit early a poor indication of NeuroGym’s overall effectiveness, whereas those who stay and train consistently for a week are a much better measure.

Another point to consider is that these surveys are conducted internally without a placebo control group or testing by an independent third party.

However, as I outline in my guide on How to Spot the Best Personal Development Courses, this doesn’t necessarily mean the survey results lack authenticity or value.

While the survey was done internally and without a control group, John Assaraf is an established figure in the personal development space whose programs and platforms are rooted in neuroscience and behavioral psychology.

Furthermore, significant scientific evidence shows that methods used within the Innercises—such as affirmations and visualizations—have led to similar outcomes outlined in the survey, including increases in confidence and focus, and a reduction in limiting beliefs.

While a claim cannot be made with 100% certainty that there is no placebo effect involved, these facts give credence to the authenticity of the results and make them worth taking into consideration, even though an independent placebo-controlled trial would hold more weight.

NeuroGym currently holds a top-tier 4.8 rating on the Apple App Store and 4.5 on Google Play, with many users saying they had life-changing results with consistent use.

Since the platform recently launched (Late March 2026), the vast majority of reviews stem from the less advanced previous iteration known as the Innercise app.

However, it stands to reason that this is still an accurate reflection of its quality, as NeuroGym contains all of the same core Innercises, with the addition of many more, plus upgraded features like the AI coaches, live events, and community support.

The original Innercise app also periodically experienced issues with freezing or crashing, which may still exist, but I have not personally encountered them while using the new NeuroGym platform and testing both the browser and app versions.

A few recent user reviews, however, have reported issues accessing their full membership after purchasing directly through the mobile app.

While this might be a temporary issue and not happen for everyone, I would recommend buying a membership and using the platform directly through their website via a web browser (which can be done on either a mobile device or a computer).

John’s book, “Innercise,” which details the underlying method behind the platform’s Innercises, also holds a high 4.6-star rating on Amazon.

While NeuroGym’s overall brand rating of 3.9 on Trustpilot doesn’t quite hit the 4.0 standard I typically set for a good rating on that specific review site (you can learn more about my subjective rating scales for other review sources in my guide on “How to Spot the Best Personal Development Courses”), diving into the details of those reviews paints a clearer picture.

Many of the one-star ratings come from individuals who didn’t actually buy the programs and were complaining about marketing or pricing, or from people who bought them but received a refund without genuinely giving them a try first.

When you isolate the reviews to people who actually used NeuroGym’s programs consistently, the overwhelming majority are 5 stars, with users claiming to experience significant, positive results.

You can access NeuroGym by clicking here, which will bring you to the official website.

Once there, you will be prompted to take the Neuro-Fitness Assessment.

After completing the assessment, you can either create a new account or log in with an existing one such as through Google or Facebook to see your results.

You can later access your account on any device with a web browser (such as a computer, phone, or tablet), or through the mobile app.

As previously mentioned, I recommend using the browser version through their website due to the reported issues with the mobile app, and I personally prefer using the web browser on my computer for the larger screen.

From there, you can select a membership tier to access the full platform, which includes two main options:

  • Gold Membership ($47/month or $297/year): Includes 300+ Innercises, 10+ AI Coaches, a members-only community, 2 live expert trainings per month, and access to 4 of John’s past programs.
  • Platinum Membership ($97/month or $497/year): Includes everything in the Gold Membership, 625+ Innercises, access to all 42+ AI Coaches, 4 live expert trainings per month, and all of John’s past flagship training programs.

If you decide to upgrade, I recommend considering the yearly membership, as it saves you up to 55% each year, meaning your savings compound the longer you use the platform.

For the membership tier, I recommend choosing the Platinum option.

By including a wider variety of AI Coaches and Innercises, alongside additional live event support, it comprehensively covers almost any potential goal or challenge you might have.

Pros, Cons, and Who the Platform is For and Not For

a oicture representing the pros and cons for neurogym

Before deciding whether to invest in a NeuroGym membership, it can be helpful to evaluate the platform’s strengths and weaknesses to see if it is a good fit for your goals, needs, and overall lifestyle.

Pros

  • Comprehensive: Almost everything you need for achieving your goals or overcoming your challenges is in one place, including a mental health and fitness assessment, mindset training, AI coaching, expert courses, live events, and community support.
  • Science-Backed: The methods and information used within the platform such as the Innercises, AI coaching content, and courses are evidence-based.
  • Flexibility: You can choose either shorter Innercise “bursts” or longer “stacks” (ranging from 5 to 25 minutes) to best fit your daily schedule, and can also download sessions and listen offline to avoid distractions.

Cons

  • Pricing: While NeuroGym offers great value by providing many high-quality tools and resources in one place, the price point might still be a bit steep for some.
  • App Syncing Issues: A few recent user reviews have reported issues accessing their full membership after purchasing directly through the mobile app. While this might be a temporary issue and not happen for everyone, I would recommend buying a membership and using the platform directly through their website via a web browser (which can be done on either a mobile device or a computer).
  • Requires Time and Effort: Achieving and maintaining results with NeuroGym requires consistency and dedication—a commitment some users might not be willing to make.

Who is the platform for?

The platform is for anyone who wants to improve their mindset, has a goal they want to reach, or a specific challenge they want to overcome, and who is also willing to put in the consistent time and effort required to achieve their desired outcome. It is well-suited for those who want an evidence-based platform with everything in one place, tackling their goals or challenges from multiple angles to get the best possible results.

Who is it not for?

It is not for anyone looking for a passive solution, or those unwilling to put in the consistent time and effort necessary to achieve and maintain their results. It is also not the best fit for anyone on a tight budget who might not be able to comfortably afford the cost of a membership.

Final Thoughts

picture of the best personal development courses super hero mascot in ancient throne room thinking of his final thoughtsOverall, I am highly impressed with the NeuroGym platform and believe it holds great potential to change people’s lives for the better.

NeuroGym is incredibly innovative in its approach of using AI to tailor mindset training and coaching to an individual’s mental health and fitness profile, goals, and needs.

When evaluating the platform’s Innercises, I relied heavily on my prior experience with this exact methodology.

I applied an almost identical process in the past, which I learned from a diverse range of sources.

It involved combining many of the fundamental aspects of the Innercise process, such as deep breathing to prime the subconscious for change, affirmations, visualizations, positive emotions, and aligned action.

This process helped me improve my mindset, achieve my goals, and create a powerful vision for my life that I took action towards.

As a result, it enabled me to be a more positive, confident, and goal-aligned individual.

Therefore, I can confidently validate the effectiveness of the core principles behind the Innercises, at least in my own experience.

Beyond my own experience, however, what makes the Innercises versatile is their ability to apply to almost anyone, as they comprehensively cover many foundational areas of life, allowing individuals to focus their mindset training on the specific areas of their choosing.

That being said, one feature I would love to see added in the future is the ability to generate fully customizable Innercises.

While the current library covers general areas, it would be an exceptional use of the platform’s AI if it could take an individual’s unique goals and challenges and create a custom, hyper-focused Innercise.

This would allow users to address precise details about what they want to achieve that span multiple areas of life, rather than relying strictly on the broader, pre-recorded Innercises currently available.

To be fair, the current method of training one particular category at a time does allow for a more concentrated focus, and the positive effects likely still carry over into other areas of life.

Still, having the option for fully personalized Innercises would be a truly valuable tool, and given NeuroGym’s trajectory, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a feature like this introduced in the future.

While the Innercises can be thought of as the backbone of the platform, in my opinion, it is the addition of AI coaches and the platform’s in-depth personalization that really takes things to the next level.

I have personally experimented with some of the AI Coaches and have found the ones I used to be more accurate and helpful in their respective fields in terms of their information and its practical application compared to general AI models.

While I cannot say with certainty this holds true in every case, it’s reasonable to assume it does for the most part.

Ultimately, combining the Innercises with the AI coaches creates a powerful one-two punch: the Innercises cover the foundational mindset work, while the coaches provide the specialized knowledge and steps needed to take action in the real world.

Many people fail to reach their goals either because mental blocks hold them back, or because they lack the right information and end up spinning their wheels.

By handling both sides of this equation—mindset and real-world application—NeuroGym provides the complete framework needed to drive the best possible results.

The ability to track and train the different “neuro-muscles” is also a fascinating, yet very practical and effective, approach to improving different aspects of an individual’s mental health and fitness, providing them with a clear map of their strengths and weaknesses and what to prioritize.

Furthermore, while the cutting-edge use of AI is definitely NeuroGym’s distinguishing feature, the human elements of the platform, including access to a community of like-minded individuals and live events with experts, add significant value.

While the cost of a membership may seem high to some at first glance, the platform actually delivers substantial value when you take into consideration the entire scope of what it offers.

Traditional one-on-one coaching—whether through a personal trainer, life coach, nutritionist, or therapist—can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars per month, and you are typically only spending a very limited amount of time working with them.

With NeuroGym, you can get expert-level coaching in multiple areas on demand at a fraction of the cost, and this is without even factoring in all of the other features.

With all that in mind, my perspective is that NeuroGym offers excellent value for those who resonate with it and can comfortably afford a membership.

Overall, with its use of AI to tailor science-backed mindset training, coaching, and expert courses to an individual’s goals and needs, combined with live events and a supportive community, NeuroGym stands as one of the best options for anyone looking to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals in life.
